Brandolyn Clanton Pinkston

Elected 1998 NCL Board Chair

At the National Consumers League's 99th annual meeting, Brandolyn Clanton Pinkston was elected to serve as chair of the board of directors.

She has been on the League's board since 1992. In 1995, Ms. Pinkston was vice chair for strategic planning. In 1995, Ms. Pinkston facilitated the League's Centennial Countdown Preconference on Credit.

Ms. Pinkston is Public Information Director for the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs. She has worked for several educational and health institutions in the Carolinas, including the North Carolina Heart Association, the Blue Ridge Community Action Center and Morris College.

Currently, she serves as a member of the National Executive Board of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in Washington, D.C. She is a former member of the board of directors of the Direct Selling Education Foundation in Washington.

Ms. Pinkston has developed instructional material for SC schools and produced many major campaigns. She was instrumental in the Department's receiving the 1996 National Consumers Week Award from the United States Office of Consumer Affairs in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Pinkston replaces Clair Villano as chair. Villano is the retired director of the Denver District Attorney's Consumer Fraud Division.
