Financial Management Newsletter Launched

"Community Credit Link" Is Offered Free To Local Organizations

WASHINGTON, DC ... What's the difference between a debit card and a credit card? How do you protect your credit rating? Just a few questions that many local organizations are answering for communities across the country. Despite the importance of educating consumers on money matters, good advice on credit cards and other useful financial information can be difficult to find. Fulfilling this need, the National Consumers League is offering a free newsletter, the Community Credit Link, to local organizations that educate consumers about credit.

"Community groups asked for a newsletter to provide up-to-date information about financial services and a network to share good common sense tips," said National Consumers League (NCL) President Linda F. Golodner. "Community Credit Link not only fills that void, but goes further by offering tons of news that you can use."

Community Credit Link aims to provide financial services information by highlighting personal bankruptcy alternatives, timely financial tips and resources for consumer credit information. The first issue, published in January, includes articles such as "Debit: The Other Plastic Card," "Protecting Your Financial Record: FCRA Update," and "Money Talk$," an interview with the education director of Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Austin, Texas.

A free year-long subscription to the Community Credit Link is available by mailing, faxing or e-mailing your name, organization and address to the National Consumers League at 1701 K St. NW, #1200, Washington, DC 20006, 202/835-0747/fax; info@nclnet.org.

Community Credit Link is made possible by an unrestricted educational grant from Visa U.S.A.
