NCL calling on FTC to end deceptive 'corn sugar' ads
May 6, 2011
The National Consumers League, in a letter to the commission, is urging the Federal Trade Commission to quickly put an end to false and deceptive advertising by the Corn Refiners Association, which is currently running a series of television commercials that refer to High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) as “corn sugar," calling such advertising claims “false” and in violation of the FTC Act as “unfair and deceptive” advertising.
