National Consumers League launching 2009-2010 LifeSmarts year

Today marks the official start of the 16th season of LifeSmarts, an educational competition that tests middle school and high school students nationwide on real-life consumer issues through online quizzes and live contests.

Consumer group sues General Mills for deceptive claims on Cheerios

In the interests in putting a stop to false and deceptive advertising, NCL is taking cereal giant General Mills to court for claiming that eating its cereal, Cheerios®, would reduce total and “bad” cholesterol.
